Grace Community Baptist Church
GRACE ONLINE

What is Grace Online?
Our Grace online system is a web-based companion to our Grace database, giving members, ministry leaders and staff access to information over the Internet.

What information about me is online?

  • Your name, address, phone number, email address
  • Family members
  • Grace ministries you are part of
  • Membership dates, birthdates, etc.
  • Your giving history

Is my information secure?

Keeping personal information about our Grace family secure is an important responsibility. We take this responsibility very seriously.

How your security is protected:

1. Passwords

  • All users must sign in with an id and password before they can get to any data.
  • When members sign up for the first time through the web site, they must enter their first name, last name, and email address. All of this must match the information in our database. The member is then sent an email with their id and password. This keeps people from being able to go in and sign up as someone else, since the email would go to the actual member in the record, not the person trying to sign in.

2. Hardware and Software Security

  • Encryption technology such as Secure Socket Layer (ssl) is used.
  • Firewalls and intrusion detection block unauthorized access by individuals.

What can other authorized users see about me?

Authorized Grace family members can see your name, address, telephone number and family members. Small group leaders and Sunday school teachers can see ministries you are involved in at Grace and your email address. Staff members can see any of the information we compile in our database, i.e., your membership status, date of membership, your birthdate, etc, with the exception of your giving record.

Who can see my giving record?

Our treasurer, finance committee member who posts giving, and financial secretary/office manager only. No other staff or Grace member has access to your giving records.

Do I have to become a user?

No.

Why should I become a user?

  • You are able to access the Grace online directory for up to date phone numbers and addresses. You can also print the directory from your home printer.
  • You can make changes to your personal information. After changes are made, an email is sent to the church office stating your changes and requesting approval.
  • You can check and print your giving statement at any time of the year. Although the version you print is not an official statement recognized by the IRS, it can give you needed information while waiting for an official copy from the church office.
  • View your Sunday school class and small groups, print class and group directories, send group emails, etc.

Will my name, afiliated with this system, come up as a result of a search engine search?

No, it will not. Our information is secure and protected.

Can I opt out of the online directory?

Yes. Once logged in to the system, just go to your Personal Preferences page.
